Come celebrate digital privacy rights on the electronic frontier with us!
When: December 12, 2025, 7pm-10pm
Our guest this year is Steve Jackson, founder of Steve Jackson Games. He will give his guest talk via remote video at 7:30.
Talk Summary: As the Electronic Frontier Foundation was coming together in 1990, one of its key inspirations was the Steve Jackson Games case.
On March 1 of that year, the Secret Service raided Steve Jackson Games and seized computers and floppy disks, including a server holding private email from the Illuminati BBS. With EFF’s support, Steve sued the Secret Service—and won.
During that period he convened a community meeting that led to the founding of EFF-Austin. Steve, now living in Atlanta, will join Jon Lebkowsky for a live video conversation that we’ll project during the Christmas event.
