    A Birthday Renaissance

    August 15 at Grotto 101
    7pm

    RSVP only

Celebrate my birthday with … an evening of Renaissance art, the awakening, the brilliant light of a generation…and in a time of great change, let’s celebrate beauty, precision, the fruits of artistic labor, and rebellion…human creativity is the key to our future…at least that’s the hope.

In pure antithetical fashion, the birthday will also couple as a gentle fundraiser for my upcoming devised production, Syntax Error: The Quickening of AI. Donations can be made in advance or on-site. Patronage for the arts is on the decline in this country and anti-human art is on the rise. What is this production I am creating with a group of crafty trickster-brilliant artists? It is a myth, a journey, a critique, a fantasy, from futures past…

The event will be catered with bespoke cocktails made by an illustrious genius…rotating visuals of immaculate artistry…singing bowls sound vibrations plus a live performance from Key Hole…and YOU, creating an exquisite corpse poem… life, death, rebirth ::: desire, art, manifestation. Please join me for an illuminating evening in the cool, cavernous comfort of Grotto 101.

Venus, the evening star, will be at her peak brightness this exact evening…binoculars will be provided…

An event activity will be a recording booth where you can rage, wonder, fantasize and contribute your thoughts about AI, LLMs, climate, and the future…

Please do RSVP — either in facesplat platform or in external link below — for food/drink calculations…

If you received an invite and you are outside Austin city limits, know that I miss you and will hopefully live stream some of the festivities. I would love to gather your thoughts.

  • Sunday Sound Bath & Singing Bowls Meditation with Kitt

Sunday Sound Bath & Singing Bowls Meditation with Kitt

    When: 10 a.m., beginning August 2

Where: 2605 Jones Road, Suite 101

A sound bath is an invitation into deep listening — not simply to sound, but to yourself.

Through resonant tones, vibration, breath, and intentional stillness, participants are invited to step away from the pace of everyday life and enter a more spacious relationship with body, awareness, and presence.

This is not a performance you watch from the outside. It is an immersive experience where sound becomes a pathway for reflection, grounding, and renewal.

Held in the intimate black-box environment of Grotto 101, this reservation-only gathering offers a small group setting designed for comfort, curiosity, and care.

    About Kitt M.

Kitt M. offers trauma-informed intuitive guidance that weaves together somatic practices, breathwork, and gentle energy-based approaches. Rather than imposing a practice onto participants, she centers choice, consent, and each person’s own pace.

Her work supports people seeking a grounded, body-centered space for reflection, regulation, and reconnection.

The Shameful Comforts return to Grotto 101
with Music & Mirth for the Summer Solstice
    6/20/2026, 7-10pm
    🌴🌞🖖

Springtime and Summertime, and Spring Again After!

Brand New Songs About Sensitive Subjects, Grand Ol’ Songs About Irish Vampires, Covers & Coveralls, Ancients & Originals; The Shameful Comforts is what happens when a trio of poet-theatre-improv performance-artists make music – mostly acoustic but also stylophone; weird, cozy, folky, filky, alternate-history, sci-fi, horror, fantasy-infused. And they got JOKES. They are Jules Moore, Michael Ferstenfeld, and David Fruchter, three human beings just like you (but different, see) 🎶🤖

As always, audience members are invited to play / sing / read / joke during the Open-Mic Set between our two sets. Sign-ups for the open-mic start slightly before the show, around 6:50pm. Or just send one of us an email / text to secure your slot.

Suggested donations of $5 – $15 are muchly appreciated, as well as your support of the beautiful & oh-so-cozy South Austin Venue, Grotto 101. In fact, it’s SO cozy that we may need to limit attendance to about 30 people, so please RSVP here or at the Zeffy link if you’re planning to attend!
